Competitor monitoring is in development.

The market data connection isn't live yet, so competitor figures can't be looked up or tracked. Scheduled tracking that records every change, competitor alerts and keyword rank tracking aren't available to customers yet. Every panel on this page is a sample.

Why monitor

Competitor research is a snapshot. Monitoring shows the movement.

Research answers "what does this market look like right now?" — useful when you're choosing a product or a position. Monitoring answers a different question: "what changed after I started watching?" The second question is where most day-to-day decisions come from.

Research tells you

What the market looks like now.

Monitoring tells you

What changed after you started watching.

Changes worth noticing

  • A competitor reduced price
  • Sales rank moved significantly
  • Star rating changed
  • Review count accelerated
  • A new seller appeared
  • Title or images changed
  • Keyword position changed

A change tells you what happened, not why. AmzEngine doesn't guess a competitor's strategy from a single movement.

Workspace

Keep your key competitors in one workspace.

One table for the handful of products you actually compete with, showing each one's latest values and the most recent change, so you can see where the movement is.

Price monitoring

Know when competitor pricing moves.

Price history shows when a competitor changed price, by how much, and whether it stuck. Observed prices depend on what the available marketplace data provides; AmzEngine doesn't claim every price is watched regular.

Price context, not automatic price matching

The lowest price isn't automatically the right one. Before reacting to a competitor's move, sellers usually weigh:

  • Your margin after fees and advertising
  • Brand positioning
  • Buy Box context
  • Advertising spend and visibility
  • Inventory levels
  • The competitor's offer type (new, used, bundle)

Rank monitoring

Follow rank movement over time.

A lower Best Sellers Rank number generally means a stronger sales-rank position within its category. Following it over time shows whether a competitor is gaining or losing ground.

BSR movement is a marketplace signal, not reported competitor sales.

AmzEngine has sales-estimation models that turn rank into an estimated range with a confidence level. They're still being validated, so competitor sales estimates aren't offered on monitoring yet. When they are, every figure will be labelled Estimated, with its range.

Reviews and ratings

Watch changes in customer proof.

Review count and star rating are the proof shoppers see first. Watching how they change shows when a competitor's social proof is building or slipping.

Review-count growth can give market context, but it doesn't equal sales — some buyers never review, and review rates vary by category. AmzEngine shows the trend, never a sales figure worked out from reviews.

Review counts and ratings come from the available data; AmzEngine doesn't claim access to every individual review. For review text analysis, see the Review Analyzer.

Keyword positions

See when competitor keyword positions change.

Seeing where you and your competitors appear for the searches that matter shows who's gaining visibility, and where gaps are opening. Search demand figures always come from the connected provider; AmzEngine never invents a search volume.

Not yet available: keyword rank tracking needs a connected search-results provider and isn't live for customers.

Listing changes

See when a competitor changes the listing.

New images, a reworded title or rewritten bullets can mean a competitor is testing its positioning. A change doesn't mean it worked — it's an event worth reviewing alongside rank and reviews.

Fields are compared where the data source provides them.

Change timeline

Understand changes in sequence.

Putting every change on one timeline shows the order things happened in. Two events close together can be worth reviewing together, but timing alone doesn't prove one caused the other.

Alerts

Get alerted when a competitor crosses your threshold.

Competitor alerts are designed to use the same notification system as the rest of AmzEngine: you set the threshold, severity and channels, and each alert links back to the change.

Not yet available: competitor alerts start once scheduled competitor tracking is available.

Sample alerts

    Competitor A reduced price 8.6%

  • BSR change

Monitor changes without turning every movement into an alert.

  • Thresholds — e.g. ignore price changes under 2%, alert above 10%
  • Cooldowns so an unchanged situation doesn't repeat
  • Duplicate alerts suppressed
  • Hourly or daily digests
  • Severity levels

Cooldowns, deduplication and digests already run in AmzEngine's notification system.

Data transparency

Know what each competitor metric represents.

Every figure is labelled with its kind: observed from the marketplace, reported by a data provider, estimated by an AmzEngine model, or derived from other values. AmzEngine never uses a competitor's private account data.

Different signals update at different frequencies, so each one carries its own timestamp rather than a single "last updated" for the page. AmzEngine doesn't promise regular data.

Product Tracker and Competitor Monitoring

FAQ

Competitor monitoring questions

What is Amazon competitor monitoring?

Watching a chosen set of competitor products over time and recording what changes — price, sales rank, reviews, rating, sellers and listing content — so you can review the movement rather than a single snapshot.

What competitor metrics can AmzEngine track?

The page shows the signals competitor monitoring is designed around: price, Best Sellers Rank, reviews, rating, seller count and listing content. None of them are tracked for customers yet — the market data connection and scheduled tracking are still being set up.

Can AmzEngine see exact competitor sales?

No. AmzEngine has no access to competitors' private Seller Central sales data. Where sales or revenue figures are shown, they are model-generated estimates based on available marketplace signals, and they are always labelled Estimated.

How are competitor sales estimates calculated?

Estimates come from category models that relate sales rank to typical sales volume, with a confidence level and range. The models are still being validated, so competitor sales estimates aren't offered as a monitoring feature yet.

Can I monitor competitor prices?

Not yet. Competitor price history and price-change alerts will depend on the market data connection, which isn't live yet.

Can I track competitor BSR?

Not yet — BSR tracking depends on the market data connection, which isn't live. When it is: a lower number generally means a stronger sales-rank position in that category — but BSR is a marketplace signal, not reported sales.

Can I monitor reviews and ratings?

Not yet. When the market data connection is live, review count and star rating will be shown where provided. AmzEngine does not claim access to every individual review.

Can I monitor competitor keywords?

Keyword rank tracking depends on a connected search-results provider and isn't available to customers yet. Keyword Research and Reverse ASIN can be used for research today where the provider is connected.

How often is competitor data updated?

AmzEngine doesn't promise real-time data. Different signals update at different frequencies depending on the data source, and each value shows when it was retrieved.

Can I receive alerts when a competitor changes price?

Competitor alerts aren't available yet. When they launch they will use AmzEngine's existing notification system with thresholds, cooldowns and digests.

How many competitors can I track?

Tracking limits will depend on your plan. Scheduled competitor tracking isn't available yet, so no limit applies today.

Does AmzEngine use private competitor data?

No. AmzEngine only uses publicly observable marketplace data, licensed provider data and its own labelled estimates. It never accesses a competitor's private account information.

AmzEngine is an independent software provider and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon.

Keep your competitors on your radar.

Track important marketplace changes, compare history and receive alerts when monitored competitors move.
