A listing can change even when you're not watching it.
An Amazon detail page is shared. The brand owner, other sellers offering the same product, Amazon's catalog systems and sometimes automated contributions can all influence what shoppers see. Most changes are routine, but some matter a great deal — a title rewrite that removes your main keyword, a new offer undercutting your price, or a listing that quietly becomes unavailable.
Listing monitoring means recording the state of the signals you care about at each check, and comparing each observation with the one before it. When something differs, you get a detected change you can review — with the previous value still on record.

When something goes wrong, the first questions are always the same: when did it change, and what did it look like before? Historical monitoring answers both. Each protected listing keeps a timeline of detected changes, so you can match a drop in sales to the moment a title changed or a new offer appeared.
That history is also useful evidence. If you open a case with Amazon — or ask our team for help — a dated record of previous and current values is far more persuasive than memory.

Not every listing needs the same watch. A hero product may deserve every signal; a long-tail variation may only need price and availability. Coverage for some fields depends on the marketplace and data provider, and we say so rather than promise it.

Monitoring rules
Decide what counts as worth an alert.
Monitoring and alerting are separate choices. You can record every observation for a listing while only being alerted about the few changes that matter — a price move larger than 10%, a lost Buy Box, a seller you haven't seen before, or a status change.
Rules are set per listing, so thresholds can reflect how each product sells rather than one blanket setting for the whole catalog.

Seller changes
Know when a new seller appears.
Where offer data is available, AmzEngine compares the sellers it observes on a listing with previous observations and with the authorized sellers you've recorded — your own store, distributors and approved resellers. A seller that doesn't match is flagged as Needs Review, with when it was first seen and the price it was offering.
An unfamiliar seller is not automatically a hijacker or counterfeiter.
It could be a reseller you forgot to add, or a legitimate seller of genuine stock. Mark it authorized, investigate further, or ask for expert help if you believe it's a potential unauthorized seller.

Losing the Buy Box rarely happens in isolation. It usually lines up with a price change, a new offer, or a stock problem. Seeing Buy Box status on the same timeline as your listing's other signals makes the cause much easier to spot — and shows how long the loss actually lasted.

Listing protection questions
What is Amazon listing protection?
Listing protection means watching the listings you care about for changes you didn't make — to content, price, sellers, the Buy Box or listing status — and keeping a record of what changed and when. AmzEngine records the observations its data sources provide for each protected ASIN, compares them with earlier observations, and alerts you when a rule you configured is triggered.
What listing changes can AmzEngine monitor?
Where a supported data source is available for the listing and marketplace: title, main images, brand and category, price, availability, seller count, offers and Buy Box signals. Some fields — such as bullet points, descriptions, detailed attributes and suppression status — depend on the marketplace data provider or on an authorized Seller Central connection, so they are monitored where available.
Can AmzEngine detect a new seller on my listing?
Yes, where the offer data for that listing is available. AmzEngine compares the sellers it observes with previous observations and with the authorized sellers you record, and flags sellers it hasn't seen before as Needs Review.
Does a new seller mean my listing has been hijacked?
No. A new seller may be an authorized reseller, a distributor you forgot to add, a legitimate seller of genuine used or resold stock, or a potential unauthorized seller. AmzEngine shows you the observation; deciding what it means — and whether to act — is up to you.
Can AmzEngine monitor the Buy Box?
Yes. For protected listings AmzEngine records Buy Box ownership where it can be observed, so you can see when it was lost, how long it stayed lost, and whether a price or seller change happened around the same time.
How often are listings checked?
Check frequency depends on your plan, the marketplace and data-provider limits. Each listing shows when it was last checked and whether its data is fresh, delayed or stale. AmzEngine does not claim real-time monitoring.
Can I monitor multiple ASINs?
Yes. You can protect several listings and choose different signals and alert rules for each one. The number of protected listings depends on your plan.
Can AmzEngine automatically remove another seller?
No. AmzEngine never contacts sellers or files reports on your behalf automatically. Removing a seller goes through Amazon's own processes; if you want help, our Expert Services team can assist with a documented case.
What happens if my listing is suppressed?
If an authorized Seller Central connection reports a suppressed or inactive status, AmzEngine records the status change and can alert you. It shows only the status the data source provides and does not guess the reason — Seller Central remains the place to see Amazon's explanation.
Can I receive listing alerts by email or messaging apps?
In-app and email alerts are available to every workspace. SMS, WhatsApp and Telegram delivery is available where it has been enabled for your workspace. You can choose channels per alert type and use quiet hours and cooldowns.
