Volume tells you nothing about intent

Two keywords with identical search volume can convert 10x differently. The Intent Engine scores the purchase stage behind each query so you can bid, write and prioritise accordingly.

Informational

Shoppers are learning. Great for content, brand story modules and top-funnel awareness — poor for exact-match bids.

Comparison

They're weighing options. Win these with comparison charts, A+ content and differentiated bullet points.

Commercial

Intent to buy soon, brand not decided. The highest-leverage place to spend ad budget and defend rank.

Transactional

Buyer-ready, often long-tail and spec-specific. Highest CVR, lowest CPC waste — protect rank at all cost.

Semantic classification

Every term is scored on modifiers, specificity, brand presence and SERP composition — not just keyword matching — with a visible confidence score you can filter on.

Audience clustering

Related terms group into shopper themes — gift buyers, spec hunters, replacement buyers — so you can see which audience your listing is currently written for.

Waste detection

Informational terms sitting in your exact-match campaigns get flagged as negative-keyword candidates, with the estimated monthly spend you'd recover.

What sellers do with intent data

Intent scores change decisions across the whole account — not just keyword lists. These are the moves teams make first.

  • Rewrite titles and bullets around transactional modifiers shoppers actually type.
  • Move informational terms out of exact match and into broad discovery or negatives.
  • Prioritise rank defence on the 20% of terms carrying most buyer-ready volume.
  • Brief content and A+ modules against comparison-stage questions.
  • Spot niches where demand is mostly research traffic before you source inventory.

Intent Engine questions

How is intent actually determined?

Each term is scored on its modifiers (best, vs, how to, sizes, brand names), its specificity, and the type of results Amazon returns for it. The output includes a confidence score so low-certainty terms are easy to review manually.

Where does the keyword list come from?

From your own workspace: reverse-ASIN reports, tracked keyword sets and category crawls. You can also paste a custom list of search terms.

Can I export the classifications?

Yes. Every intent report exports to CSV with stage, confidence, volume band and estimated conversion rate, ready for bulk ad sheets.

Does it work outside the US marketplace?

Intent classification runs on 14 marketplaces, with locale-aware modifier handling for non-English search terms.

How often is it refreshed?

Daily for tracked ASINs and keyword sets, and on demand for any ad-hoc report you run.
