What to do when Amazon takes something away

Almost every seller emergency falls into one of a handful of categories: the selling account is suspended, a single ASIN is blocked or suppressed, another seller has attached themselves to your listing, your brand name or catalog detail has been overwritten, or your account health metrics have slipped far enough that enforcement is coming. The response is different in each case, and choosing the wrong one usually costs more time than doing nothing — a generic appeal on a listing-level issue, for example, tends to be rejected and can make the second attempt harder.

The diagnostic above asks a short series of questions about what you received from Amazon, when it arrived, and what evidence you already hold, then points you at the specific service that matches. If your situation does not fit cleanly, talk to our team rather than guessing; describing the notification you received is usually enough for us to identify the correct route.

Before you appeal anything

Three things determine how an appeal is judged: whether you correctly identified the policy that was breached, whether your evidence actually proves what you claim, and whether your plan of action addresses root cause rather than symptoms. Sellers most often fail on the second point — supplier invoices without matching quantities, screenshots without dates, or documents that do not name the same legal entity as the Seller Central account.

Gather the original notification in full, the performance notification history around it, your supply chain documentation for the affected ASINs, and any prior correspondence on the same issue. Having these ready before the first submission is the single largest factor in how quickly a case resolves.

Act on the clock, not on the calendar

Enforcement issues degrade with time. Suppressed listings lose ranking and reviews momentum every day they stay down; hijackers accumulate order history and negative feedback that attaches to your ASIN; account-level suspensions freeze disbursements while storage and advertising commitments continue. Where a case has a deadline — a plan of action window, a counter-notice period, a documentation request — missing it typically means starting over from a weaker position.

That is why the recommendation you receive includes what happens next and roughly how long each stage takes, rather than only a service name. You should be able to see the sequence before you commit.

Stopping the same problem twice

Recovery is only half the work. Most sellers who lose an ASIN or take an account health hit had a detectable warning first: a policy notification that was not read closely, a competitor testing a listing change, a metric drifting toward a threshold. AmzEngine's monitoring watches account health metrics, buy box ownership, listing content changes and new offers on your ASINs, and alerts you through the channels you choose — so the next incident arrives as a notification rather than as a suspension email.
