Why Buy Box changes deserve context.
The Buy Box — Amazon now calls it the Featured Offer — is the offer shoppers buy from when they click Add to Cart. When several sellers offer the same product, Amazon picks one. Because most sales go through that offer, losing it can mean losing most of your sales on that listing, sometimes within hours.
But a Buy Box loss does not automatically mean another seller acted improperly. Amazon weighs many factors, and it does not publish exactly how. What you can do is see what changed around the event — and that's where monitoring helps.

Buy Box alerts
Know when the Buy Box changes.
An alert is created when a Buy Box status change matches one of your rules. Its severity comes from the rule — a loss on your best seller can be critical while the same change on a slow variation is only a warning.
Loss and recovery are paired. While the status stays the same, the existing alert deduplication and cooldowns stop the same unchanged loss from alerting you again at every check; when the Buy Box comes back, the recovery alert closes the loop with the loss duration.

What is the Amazon Buy Box?
The Buy Box is the box on an Amazon product page with the Add to Cart and Buy Now buttons. When several sellers offer the same product, Amazon selects one offer to appear there. Most purchases go through that offer, which is why sellers watch it closely.
What is the Featured Offer?
Featured Offer is Amazon's current name for the offer shown in the Buy Box. The terms are used interchangeably. Amazon may also show no Featured Offer at all when no offer meets its eligibility criteria.
Why did I lose the Buy Box?
There can be many reasons: price competitiveness, a new competing offer, stock availability, fulfillment method, seller-performance factors, or other eligibility and selection factors Amazon does not publish. A loss does not by itself mean another seller did anything wrong.
Can AmzEngine tell me exactly why I lost it?
No. Amazon decides Featured Offer eligibility and selection, and its algorithm is not public. AmzEngine shows what it observed around the event — price, seller and availability changes where available — so you can investigate the likely causes yourself.
How does AmzEngine monitor Buy Box changes?
For the products you choose, AmzEngine records the Buy Box status and related signals that its marketplace data source provides at each check, compares each observation with the previous one, and creates a change event when the status changes. Alert rules then decide whether you are notified.
How frequently is Buy Box status checked?
Check frequency depends on your plan, the marketplace and data-provider limits. Each product shows when it was last checked and whether its data is fresh, delayed or stale. AmzEngine does not claim real-time or second-by-second monitoring.
Can I get an alert when I recover the Buy Box?
Yes. Loss and recovery are separate conditions, so you can be alerted to both. The recovery event shows how long the loss lasted, where the observations support calculating it.
Can a new seller cause me to lose the Buy Box?
A new competing offer can be one factor, especially if it is priced lower, but it is only one of many. AmzEngine shows when a seller was first observed relative to the Buy Box change; the timing alone does not prove the new seller caused the loss.
Does Buy Box loss mean my listing was hijacked?
No. Another eligible seller winning the Buy Box is normal marketplace competition. It only becomes a concern if you have reason to believe the seller is unauthorized or selling non-genuine goods — and that needs investigation, not an automatic conclusion.
Can AmzEngine automatically restore my Buy Box?
No. AmzEngine does not change your prices, contact other sellers or file reports automatically, and nobody can guarantee Buy Box ownership. It helps you notice changes quickly and review the context so you can decide what to do.
